India stand tall against opponents: India,
which bagged the top spot in Pool B after the first round of ongoing
World Cup, has achieved a rare feet of bowling out all the six opponents
in its respective matches.
Starting with high voltage clash against arch-rival Pakistan, India
bowled out South Africa, UAE, West Indies, Ireland and Zimbabwe, within
the allotted 50 overs. This is the second time a team have bowled out an
opposition six consecutive times in the World Cup, the first being
South Africa in the 2011 edition.
Centurion Kumar Sangakkara:
Sri Lankan batting great Kumar Sangakkara, who is in prime form, scored
four consecutive centuries in the World Cup. He is the first player in
cricket history to hit four hundreds in the World Cup. He is also the
first overseas batsman to score five hundreds in Australia.
Bangladesh knock England out:
In one of the most eventful matches of the first round, Bangladesh
defeated England to knock them out of the World Cup. This was not the
first time in quadrennial event that minnows Bangladesh spoiled the
party of a big gun. In 2007 World Cup, Bangladesh had defeated India
also.
Teams scoring 300+ runs:
The tournament has so far witnessed an incredible twenty three 300-plus
totals, three scores of 400-plus runs. ICC World Cup 2015 has already
