An unflappable middle-order mainstay, Misbah has 42 ODI half-centuries
to his credit but doesn't have a single 50-over ton under his belt. He
has accumulated 5,122 runs -- the most runs by any player in ODIs
without a ton.

Misbah, who holds a MBA degree in Human Resource Management, began with some high points in 2008 as he was elevated to the post of Vice – Captain of the Pakistan team.
Misbah, who holds a MBA degree in Human Resource Management, began with some high points in 2008 as he was elevated to the post of Vice – Captain of the Pakistan team.
Due to the batting-collapses that Pakistan suffered during England tour
2010 and spot-fixing controversy, Misbah was recalled for the subsequent
tour against South Africa in the UAE to lead as a captain of the team
for Test series. After resignation of Shahid Afridi as test captain and
suspended captain Salman Butt due to spot-fixing scandal, Misbah was
preferred over Younus Khan, Mohammad Yousuf and Kamran Akmal as the
skipper.
Misbah's captaincy came under serious scrutiny after Pakistan lost the
ODI series against South Africa in the UAE. However, the PCB backed him
and declared him to be the captain until the 2015 World Cup.
Former captain Muhammad Yousuf had said that Misbah was pulling down the
team with his defensive approach and passive captaincy. He had also
said that Misbah shouldn’t be part of the 2015 World Cup squad.
